Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen enjoyed playing sporting games when she was a kid and she excelled at sports. Her ability to perform was an ideal complement to her love of sports. She was awarded nearly all Feis Award for Theater and Drama the country could offer. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the famed Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater and operatic singing. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after seeing a Maureen screen test. He was immediately captivated the beautiful eyes she had. Laughton altered the name of Maureen's FitzSimons changed from Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" it is a less slender version of her last name. The name change happened just before Laughton decided to use her for Jamaica Inn. Maureen was contracted by Laughton to make her next film in America with RKO Pictures (The Hunchback of Notre The Dame, 1939). The film's epic nature was an extraordinary success and Maureen's contract eventually transferred outright from Laughton to RKO. Maureen was just 19 years old when she appeared alongside Laughton in two films.
